Compression Therapy for Scar Management

As you would expect from a innovative, dynamic company we can unveil a new development based on continuing research.

Using experience gained in the field of cerebral palsy treatment we have incorporated Dynamic control panels into our standard poly/cotton burns garments to provide corrective contracture reducing forces.

These orthoses provide forces to:

  • Counter muscle and soft tissue contraction often associated with scarring.
  • Improve rehabilitation, cosmetic appearance and compliance.
  • Maintain or regain range of movement the affected area.

Dynamic Burn Garments Control Scarring

Dynamic Burn Garments help to control the growth of abnormal scar tissue resulting from severe injuries, such as burns or post surgical complications. Dynamic Burns Garments provide the required compression of 17-24 mmHg which is necessary to help aid in the reduction of oedema and prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scarring.

The pressure applied by Dynamic Burns Garments increases the scar maturation rate, through providing permanent cylindrical pressure to the area of scar tissue. This prevents the thickness of the scar increasing.

Dynamic Burn Garments Wearing Regime

It is important that burn patients begin wearing pressure garments while the scar is active and immature. Scar tissue is highly responsive in the early stages so an early application of pressure garments is imperative. Dynamic Burn garments should be worn at least 23 hours a day, removing them for bathing and cleaning of the garments only. Most patients will need to wear pressure garments for 12 to 18 months.

Silver treatment conforming to EU directive tested to be 99.9% effective against MRSA Rapid Delivery - 24 hour turn round of orders on receipt of order.
